An APP (Advanced Practice Practitioner) is either a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. While doctors and APP’s differ in their education level, APP’s can diagnose, treat and coordinate care as a regular Primary Care Physician would.

Our doctors currently accept all insurance plans that our medical group, Regal accepts. However, as physicians’ patient panels become increasingly impacted, some physicians will only accept new Medicare Advantage patients only.

As a patient of Rancho Family, you’re welcome to see any provider within the group. All your medical records and chart notes are available to whichever provider you choose to schedule with, so if your doctor is unavailable, don’t worry! Our providers are here to make your care as cohesive as possible.

Becoming a new patient is easy! If you are 65+ and need help, please call our Patient Relations team at 951-225-6808. If you are not a senior or not on Medicare, you can call the office directly at 951-676-4193.

Richard Bonnes Bio

Richard Bonnes grew up in Washington state as a Navy “brat”. In 1998 he elected to join
the US Navy himself, take his Oath of Enlistment, and departed for Recruit Training
Command, Great Lakes, IL. Upon completion of basic training, he was to attend Hospital Corpsman (HM) “A” School. He spent 7 years as a General Duty Hospital Corpsman.

He became an “Independent Duty Corpsman” in 2007, an Enlisted Healthcare Provider. In
December 2012, he was selected for the US Navy Physician Assistant Program in San Antonio, Texas. He subsequently commissioned to the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade and commissioned as a Physician Assistant upon completion of his Bachelor’s and
Master’s degrees accredited by the University of Nebraska Medical Center in March
2016. After multiple assignments and deployments with Marine Corps Units; and after
approximately 28 years in the US Navy, he hung up his hat and retired in March 2026 as
a Lieutenant. He joined Rancho Family Medical Group with a passion to help
individuals on the journey of health.

He has lived in the Southern Riverside County area for over 6 years. He has significant
ties to the community. He routinely enjoys his weekends playing golf, and spending time
with his wife, and kids. While Richard found his calling serving his nation practicing

Medicine around the world, he also developed a passion helping all ages achieve their
health goals. Given his service he has a special place in his heart in assisting the Military
Community and their families.
