How to Become a Patient

So you’re interested in becoming a patient, but what does that process actually look like? If you don’t know how to change your primary care physician, it can feel overwhelming. But don’t worry, we’re here to walk you through the whole process and ease the overwhelm of becoming a patient! Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to make the switch.

Rancho Family Medical Group is affiliated with the following hospitals: Loma Linda Murrieta, Rancho Springs Medical Center, Temecula Valley Hospital, and Inland Valley Hospital. We are proud to say that we have a team of Hospitalists at each of these hospitals who round on our patients. If you are ever admitted into one of these four hospitals, rest assured that a Rancho Family physician will be the one in charge of your care. They have direct access to your primary care doctor to ensure continuity of care upon your release.

Here at Rancho Family Medical Group, our goal is to extend your care beyond the four walls of the exam room. Some of our resources include:

  • A wide variety of fitness and health classes to our patients 55+ in our senior centers. There are currently centers in Hemet, Sun City, and we partner with a local gym in Murrieta. These classes are completely FREE of charge! Click HERE to learn more.

We are family physicians serving south Riverside county with the highest quality of care. We do not just make suggestions and write prescriptions, we have taken steps to improve the health of our patients. Our family physicians have developed educational content that empowers their community to make healthy lifestyle changes.  We also have free senior centers for our patients 65 and older that are full of exercise and nutrition classes as well as full online courses teaching a wide variety of health topics. We pride ourselves on going beyond the exam room to make our community healthier and happier.

About Us:

In 1942 Rancho Family Medical group started with our first office in Fallbrook we have been moving up north into southwest riverside county to bring you excellent quality healthcare with over 40 different providers we know you will find a doctor or advanced practice practitioner that you can interest with your medical care since we have a long history of caring for patients in the valley we have seen and assisted with the growth and implementation of the newer hospitals like Loma Linda Murrieta Valley Rancho Springs and Inland Valley we have a dedicated team of hospitalists at these locations who look after our patients making sure that their ailments are directly communicated to their assigned doctors rest assured if you’re admitted to any of these four hospitals you will be taken care of by the Rancho Family doctors you have come to know and love we accept all major insurances like straight medicare all medicare supplements or Medigap plans and medicare advantage plans like Unitedhealthcare Scan Healthnet and more if you have any questions please let us know we are more than happy to walk you through the steps to become a patient from all of us at Rancho Family thank you for entrusting us with your medical care

How to Become a Patient:

So you’re interested in changing your doctor but what does that process look like? If you’ve never changed your primary care physician before it can feel a little overwhelming but don’t worry we’re here to guide you throughout the whole process and to ease the overwhelm of switching your doctor here’s a step-by-step guide on how to switch step one the first thing you want to do is decide which doctor you want to switch to if you’re not sure on which doctor you want to switch to go ahead and call our community reps and we can help you find the best fit for you step two grab your insurance card and call the customer service or member services phone number on the back of your card if asked choose the option find a doctor step three tell the insurance representative the full name of the doctor you want to switch to let them know that the doctor is with Regal Medical Group step four ask the representative when you will be effective most likely this will be the first day of the following month step number five call your new doctor’s office and set up an appointment let them know your effective date and they can set you up with your first appointment to establish care with your new doctor and just like that you’ve switched yourself we know insurances can be confusing so at any time if they can’t find the doctor or if they’re saying your doctor’s not accepting new patients go ahead and give us a call we have a team of community representatives who are more than happy to help you throughout this entire process we’re so excited for you to join us here

You can request a prescription refill by logging into your MyChart account and requesting a refill on the Medications page, or you can call (951) 676-4193 to request a refill over the phone.
