Amanda Vanscoy's Bio

Amanda Vanscoy is a board-certified family nurse practitioner at Rancho Family Medical Group’s Makena location. She earned her master’s degree from United States University in San Diego and completed her FNP residency at Makena.

Caring for others has always been her passion. From a young age, she turned her room into a clinic, treating stuffed animals and organizing supplies—an early instinct that led to a career focused on both patient care and education. Guided by Jean Watson’s Nursing Theory of Caring, she takes a holistic approach, empowering patients to achieve their best health.

Outside of work, Vanscoy stays busy as a proud “boy mom,” spending her time at baseball games, fishing trips, and outdoor adventures. She also enjoys cooking, reading, and home decorating. She believes staying active is key to a healthy life and encourages her patients to find movement they enjoy. She looks forward to providing compassionate care and helping patients reach their health goals.

An APP (Advanced Practice Practitioner) is either a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. While doctors and APP’s differ in their education level, APP’s can diagnose, treat and coordinate care as a regular Primary Care Physician would. 

Our doctors currently accept all insurance plans that our medical group, Regal accepts. However, as physicians’ patient panels become increasingly impacted, some physicians will only accept new Medicare Advantage patients only.

As a patient of Rancho Family, you’re welcome to see any provider within the group. All your medical records and chart notes are available to whichever provider you choose to schedule with, so if your doctor is unavailable, don’t worry! Our providers are here to make your care as cohesive as possible.

Becoming a new patient is easy! If you are 65+ and need help, please call our Patient Relations team at 951-225-6808. If you are not a senior or not on Medicare, you can call the office directly at 951-676-4193.
