Recognized as the “Sports Medicine Champion” in 2009 by the San Diego Sports Medicine Foundation, Dr. Hizon has been an active community member for 28 years as the volunteer team physician for Temecula Valley High School. His contributions include over 4,500 pre-participation sports examinations for local schools, earning him the Distinguished Citizen of the Year for Temecula in 2015.

Currently, Dr. Hizon is affiliated with prestigious organizations such as the American Academy of Family Physicians, American College of Sports Medicine, and the California Medical Association. Additionally, he serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the UC Riverside School of Medicine and is a medical advisor for the Temecula Physician Leaders Program. He holds positions on the Board of Governors for the Temecula Valley Hospital and as core faculty for their Family Medicine Residency Program, focusing on lifestyle medicine and MSK Point of Care Ultrasound.

In his commitment to community health, Dr. Hizon has taken on a leadership role in Lions Club International, leading their Type II Diabetes Program. With 36 years of marriage to his wife Theresa, who is a reading specialist at Red Hawk Elementary School, Dr. Hizon is a proud parent of four children and three grandchildren. Having resided in Temecula for over 30 years, their youngest child, Brian, is currently pursuing his medical education at Chicago’s Rush School of Medicine.
