Dr. David Lawrence got his graduate degree from Yale University, where he also served at the Divinity School as the hospital chaplain developing his skills in the clinic with both adult and pediatric patients. At first, he did not know if he wanted to become a physician, but Dr. Lawrence describes his time there as a transformative experience, solidifying his decision to continue in the medical field.

He later was accepted to the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles. Most of his rotations were at the Los Angeles County Hospital where he again volunteered as hospital chaplain. After completing his medical degree at USC in 2018, he finished his medical training in 2021 at Children’s Hospital Loma Linda University School of Medicine with a full pediatrics residency.

Since Dr. Lawrence is trained in academic medicine he utilizes an evidence-based and holistic approach to care. First and foremost, however, Dr. Lawrence’s approach to medicine is relational—it is his calling. He sees no greater privilege than to listen to and partner with parents to support the advancement of their child’s health.

On his days off, Dr. Lawrence likes to recharge in nature. He loves hiking in the mountains and is big on family. He loves spending quality time with them!
