Family Physician Temecula
Dr. Neilson Bio
Dr. Eric Neilson is a family physician with Rancho Family Medical Group, currently seeing patients at the Single Oak office in Temecula. He is passionate about building meaningful relationships with patients and providing comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals and families at every stage of life.
Dr. Neilson grew up in Long Beach, California, where his love for science, learning, and service-oriented work sparked his interest in medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara, majoring in pre-medical sciences and microbiology. He went on to complete medical school at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, followed by family medicine and global health/tropical medicine training at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier, California. Throughout his education, volunteer work played a major role in shaping his compassionate approach to care.
At the core of Dr. Neilson’s philosophy is the belief that listening is one of the most important aspects of medicine. He strives to create a supportive environment where patients feel heard, understood, and actively involved in their care. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Neilson enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children and staying active outdoors. He is excited to serve the Temecula community and looks forward to caring for patients at the Single Oak office.

An APP (Advanced Practice Practitioner) is either a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. While doctors and APP’s differ in their education level, APP’s can diagnose, treat and coordinate care as a regular Primary Care Physician would.
Our doctors currently accept all insurance plans that our medical group, Regal accepts. However, as physicians’ patient panels become increasingly impacted, some physicians will only accept new Medicare Advantage patients only.
As a patient of Rancho Family, you’re welcome to see any provider within the group. All your medical records and chart notes are available to whichever provider you choose to schedule with, so if your doctor is unavailable, don’t worry! Our providers are here to make your care as cohesive as possible.
